Actually, Arthas's dad was a good person. After Arthas went to Northrend to hunt Mal'Ganis his last choice was to take Frostmourne. He killed Mal'Ganis and Frostmourne drove him mad. He returned home and killed his father so he could rule the land. If you play Warcraft III Reign of Chaos/Frozen Throne you know it all =).

@Wintzero Actually he didnt kill Mal'Ganis, He is Disguised as A Scarlet Onslaught Grand Admiral. You try and kill him but he teleports away...He wants to kill Arthas for something...Not sure why. But Frostmourne did drive him mad, He did kill his father so he can destroy the land and rise the corpses. Then the undead broke out of his grip. Then he threw away his heart (After the battle with Illidan Stormrage) because it made him weak...then he became part of the Lich King.

Mal'ganis wants arthas dead because he was betrayed, he was promised immense power for assisting in making arthas the lich king, but arthas took the power he was promised.

yeah that was an event before WotLK came out. every so often Org and SW would be attacked like u saw, it was for the RP aspect. it mite have been during(or before) the most fun event.. Zombies would attack - if u got bitten u would become one, u could only speak zombie (faction didnt matter, it was the only time where horde and alli could trade with each other) but ur health slowly depleted. Shattrath was in turmoil xD

@Ledenzel - You are right, he is disguised as "Barean Westwind" - who you then defeat in Icecrown as a quest from the Ebon Blade and he then Flee's back to his homeworld and plots revenge against the Lich King. So I expect to be seeing him in some upcoming expansions :)
